Means of transport

Equipment is quite crucial. One starts to appreciate it when the expedition depends on it, the  (in)conveniences, and sometimes survival. Two expeditions to the furthest corners of the world have confirmed my previous opinion that one should not economize on equipment – it should be the best one can afford.

As we are going to carry most of the equipment on our backs, often in rough areas, during long marches, the list has to be short. Otherwise the furthest we will go is the airport:-). The photo equipment is another burden, which drastically limits the volume and weight of the equipment. It’s going to be hard and the word “compromise” will be inflected in many different ways.

However we are gradually collecting the equipment and as soon as this phase of preparations end we will write a few words about the objects that are going to support us literally and figuratively during our expedition:-)
